Qatar, which hosts the forward headquarters of US Central Command at Al Udeid Air Base, has emerged as one of Washington's most reliable security partners in the region. Doha was designated a Major Non-NATO Ally in 2022 and has invested heavily in expanding Al Udeid's capacity, positioning the Gulf state as an increasingly vital node in the US global military footprint as Washington recalibrates its European deployments.
