Israeli Forces Arrest Three Young Men in Kafr al-Labad East of Tulkarem

Israeli occupation forces arrested three young Palestinian men during a raid on the town of Kafr al-Labad, east of Tulkarem in the northern occupied West Bank, local sources confirmed on Tuesday.
The detainees were identified as Muath Mohammed al-Aswad, Moamen Fakhri Thulthain, and Qusai Abdul Jabbar Subha. The arrests took place after Israeli military vehicles stormed the town in the early hours, conducting house-to-house searches and interrogating residents before taking the three men into custody.
Witnesses reported that soldiers surrounded several homes in the town, forcing families out into the streets while they searched the properties. The military operation caused widespread fear among residents, particularly children and the elderly, as troops deployed across multiple neighborhoods simultaneously.
Kafr al-Labad, a town of roughly 10,000 inhabitants situated in the Tulkarem governorate, has faced repeated Israeli incursions in recent months as the occupation military has intensified its operations across the northern West Bank. Tulkarem and its surrounding towns and refugee camps have been subjected to near-daily raids since the escalation of hostilities in the region following October 2023.
The arrests add to a mounting toll of Palestinian detentions that has drawn sharp international criticism. According to Palestinian prisoner rights organizations, Israel has arrested more than 15,000 Palestinians from the West Bank since October 2023, bringing the total number of Palestinian political prisoners held in Israeli jails to unprecedented levels. Human rights groups have documented systematic abuse, administrative detention without charge, and denial of legal representation for many of those detained.
The Tulkarem area has become one of the most heavily targeted zones in the occupied West Bank, with Israeli forces carrying out extensive demolition of infrastructure, roads, and civilian property during repeated military operations. The Tulkarem and Nur Shams refugee camps have endured particularly devastating raids that have killed dozens and left significant destruction in their wake.
Qatar has consistently condemned Israeli military operations in the occupied Palestinian territories and called for the protection of Palestinian civilians under international humanitarian law. Doha has been at the forefront of diplomatic efforts to address the humanitarian crisis, providing substantial financial support to Palestinian families and institutions while pressing for accountability through international legal mechanisms.
The Palestinian Authority's Prisoners Affairs Commission called for immediate international intervention to halt the ongoing campaign of mass arrests, describing the detentions as part of a broader policy of collective punishment against the Palestinian people.
No official statement was issued by the Israeli military regarding the specific reasons for the arrests in Kafr al-Labad at the time of publication.
