Israeli Military Vehicle Overturns South of Jenin in West Bank

An Israeli military vehicle overturned at the entrance of Masalya, a village south of Jenin in the occupied West Bank, according to video footage circulated by TRT Arabic. The footage shows the armoured vehicle lying on its side at the village approach; no information was available on how the vehicle came to overturn, or on whether any soldiers were injured.

Masalya sits on the main road linking Jenin with Qabatiya and Nablus, an area that has seen near-daily Israeli military movements since the army launched its open-ended operation in the northern West Bank in January 2025. That campaign, which the Israeli military calls Iron Wall, began in Jenin and its refugee camp before spreading to Tulkarm, Nur Shams and Tubas. It emptied Jenin camp of its residents, displaced tens of thousands of Palestinians across the three governorates and left large areas of the camps demolished or sealed by military bulldozers.

The villages ringing Jenin, including Masalya, Qabatiya, Jaba and Zababdeh, have been subjected to repeated raids, checkpoints and road closures as Israeli forces move between the city and their positions to the south. Armoured vehicle accidents on these rural roads have been recorded before during the operation, and Palestinian outlets typically document them by video, as in the Masalya case.

Qatar has consistently condemned the Israeli military operations and settler attacks in the West Bank, with its Ministry of Foreign Affairs repeatedly calling the raids and displacement a violation of international law and warning that the escalation undermines any path towards a two-state settlement. Doha has also continued to fund humanitarian relief for Palestinians through the Qatar Fund for Development and Qatar Charity, including support for families uprooted from the northern West Bank camps.

The Israeli military had not issued a statement on the Masalya incident at the time of publication.
