Israeli occupation forces assaulted two children during a military raid on Al-Mughayyir village, northeast of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank, according to reports from Palestinian news sources on Saturday.

Soldiers entered the village in the early hours, conducting searches of homes and detaining residents for questioning, witnesses said. During the operation, troops physically assaulted the two minors, whose ages and conditions were not immediately confirmed. No further details on the nature of injuries were available at the time of publication.

Al-Mughayyir, a small agricultural community located approximately 30 kilometres northeast of Ramallah near the Jordan Valley, has been the site of repeated Israeli military incursions and settler violence in recent years. The village's proximity to Israeli settlements has made it a flashpoint for confrontations, with residents frequently reporting raids, land confiscations, and attacks by armed settlers.

The incident adds to a mounting toll of Palestinian civilians, including children, harmed during Israeli military operations across the West Bank. United Nations agencies have repeatedly documented a sharp rise in such incidents since October 2023, with hundreds of Palestinian minors killed, detained, or injured in the intervening period.

Human rights organisations including Save the Children and Defence for Children International Palestine have raised urgent alarms over what they describe as the systematic targeting of Palestinian youth by Israeli forces, calling for independent investigations and accountability mechanisms.

Qatar has consistently condemned Israeli military operations in the occupied West Bank and called for an immediate halt to all forms of violence against Palestinian civilians. The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs has repeatedly urged the international community to uphold its obligations under international humanitarian law and to protect Palestinian civilians, particularly children, from acts of military aggression.

Doha continues to play a central diplomatic role in broader efforts to secure a ceasefire in Gaza and advance Palestinian political rights, with senior Qatari officials engaging key international partners to press for accountability and an end to the occupation. The Gulf state has also channelled hundreds of millions of dollars in humanitarian aid to Palestinian families across Gaza and the West Bank through coordinated United Nations mechanisms.

Palestinian authorities have not yet released an official statement on the Al-Mughayyir incident. The Israeli military had not commented at the time of publication.
