Third Straight Asian Games Gold for Qatar's Beach Volleyball Pair

Cherif Younousse and Ahmed Tijan beat Indonesia 2-1 in the men's beach volleyball final at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games. It is Qatar's third straight Asian Games gold in the event, after 2018 and 2022.
Younousse, born in Senegal, and Tijan, born in The Gambia, have played together under Qatar's flag since the 2014 FIVB U21 World Championships. In 2021 they won Qatar's first Olympic beach volleyball medal, a bronze at Tokyo.
A decade on, the pair are still winning at the top level. Three Asian Games golds in a row and an Olympic medal make them one of the most successful partnerships in Qatari sport.
