Qatar Airways is offering passengers connecting through Hamad International Airport the chance to turn their layover into a Formula 1 race weekend, packaging its free Qatar Stopover program with access to Grand Prix events in Doha. The airline, a global partner of Formula 1 and closely tied to the Qatar Airways Qatar Grand Prix held at the Lusail International Circuit, is positioning the offer for transiting travelers who would otherwise spend a few hours or a night in transit and instead can extend their stay to take in race-weekend activities before continuing their onward journey.

The move builds on Qatar Airways' existing stopover scheme, which already gives eligible transit passengers complimentary hotel nights, city tours and airport lounge access in Doha depending on cabin class and layover length. Bundling that program with F1-linked experiences gives the carrier another way to convert routine transit traffic into higher-value visits, encouraging passengers flying between Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas to break up long-haul journeys in Qatar rather than treat Hamad International purely as a connection point.
