Lawh Wa Qalam, the Qatar Foundation museum in Education City dedicated to the late Indian modernist painter M.F. Husain, has been named to TIME Magazine's World's Greatest Places 2026 list. The recognition places the Doha institution among the destinations TIME identifies each year as the most compelling new and reimagined sites worldwide, and marks one of the clearest signals yet of Qatar's growing standing as a centre for the visual arts.

The museum is devoted to the work of Maqbool Fida Husain, regarded as one of the most important figures in twentieth-century South Asian art. Often described as the father of Indian modernism, Husain spent his final years in Doha, where Qatar offered him a home and a base for his work after he left India.
