Qatar Charity (QC) inaugurated a solar-powered integrated water project in Chiboli Village, Chamwino District, Dodoma Region, Tanzania, on Tuesday, according to a statement by the charity. The Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported that the project benefits approximately 5,000 people.

QNA, in a report datelined Dodoma, November 03, said QC inaugurated the project as part of its efforts to enhance access to safe and clean water for local communities. The @qatarnewsagency Telegram channel also announced in a short post that QC had inaugurated a new water project in Tanzania.
What does the project include?
A QC statement, as carried by QNA, said the project includes a deep borehole, a 45,000-liter water storage tank, and two water distribution points. The statement said it contributes to improved health and public hygiene, eases the burden of obtaining water, and supports socio-economic development in the area.
According to QNA, Chamwino District Commissioner Janeth Mayanja said the project will serve four villages, a health dispensary, and a secondary school.

Shah praised the cooperation of local authorities and the community in completing the project, QNA said. He also said QC would continue its sustainable development interventions across Tanzania, particularly in the most vulnerable communities, according to the agency.
What else has QC done on water in Tanzania?
QNA said the project builds on QC's efforts in Tanzania's water sector. During the first half of this year, the charity's Tanzania Branch implemented several projects, including 30 wells equipped with solar-powered systems, according to the agency.
