Qatari Cabinet Praises Amir's Participation in Gulf Consultative Summit

Qatar's Council of Ministers on Tuesday lauded the participation of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani in the Gulf Consultative Summit hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Jeddah, describing the gathering as a pivotal moment for advancing joint Gulf action and reinforcing the strategic cohesion of the Gulf Cooperation Council. The Cabinet, meeting at its weekly session in Doha, expressed pride in the outcomes of the summit and affirmed that the deliberations reflected the depth of the brotherly ties binding the GCC member states under the leadership of their rulers.
The Consultative Summit, convened at the invitation of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and chaired by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, brought together leaders of the six Gulf states to review regional and international developments and coordinate positions on issues of shared concern. The Qatari Cabinet noted that the Amir's interventions during the summit emphasised the importance of unified Gulf diplomacy in addressing the volatile security landscape in the Middle East, foremost among them the continuing humanitarian catastrophe in the Gaza Strip and the urgent need to consolidate a durable ceasefire.
In its statement issued through Qatar News Agency, the Cabinet affirmed that the summit's final communique aligned with Doha's longstanding positions on the Palestinian question, the centrality of the two-state solution, and the rejection of any forced displacement of Palestinians from their land. Ministers also welcomed the emphasis placed by Gulf leaders on collective economic integration, energy market stability, food and water security, and the acceleration of joint investment frameworks across the bloc.
The Cabinet underscored that Qatar remains committed to the institutional architecture of the Gulf Cooperation Council and to advancing common positions on regional flashpoints, including Sudan, Yemen, Lebanon and the Iranian nuclear file. It praised what it described as the constructive spirit that prevailed throughout the Jeddah deliberations and the personal role played by the Amir in steering discussions toward consensus-based outcomes.
Observers in Doha described the summit as another marker of the maturing post-blockade Gulf order, in which Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates have moved decisively to repair relations and pursue coordinated policy on energy, mediation and security. Qatar, which mediated the most recent Gaza truce alongside Egypt and the United States, has used Gulf platforms to press for an expanded humanitarian corridor and accelerated reconstruction financing.
The Council of Ministers concluded by extending its appreciation to the Saudi leadership for the warm reception accorded to the Amir and the accompanying delegation, and reaffirmed Qatar's full readiness to host and support future GCC initiatives aimed at safeguarding the security, prosperity and sovereignty of the Gulf peoples.
