Qatar's Foreign Ministry Receives Malta Ambassador's Credentials

Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs received copies of the credentials of Malta's newly appointed ambassador to the State of Qatar on Sunday, 2 August 2026, in Doha. HE Dr. Ahmed bin Hassan Al Hammadi, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, met HE Maria Camilleri Calleja, Ambassador of the Republic of Malta to the State of Qatar, and received the copies of her credentials during the meeting at the ministry's headquarters. Dr. Al Hammadi wished the ambassador success in her duties and affirmed the ministry's full support to advance bilateral relations between Qatar and Malta and to foster closer cooperation across various fields. The handing over of copies of credentials to the Secretary-General is the customary first step in an ambassador's accreditation in Doha, preceding the formal presentation of the original credentials to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, after which the head of mission may exercise full diplomatic functions.
