IRGC warns of expanded war zone if US strikes Iran again

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) warned that any new US military strike on Iran will be answered with advanced weapons that have not yet been revealed, and with a widening of the war's geographic scope beyond the Middle East, according to a statement by an IRGC spokesperson reported by Roya News.

The spokesperson said Iran would respond to fresh American attacks by deploying weaponry it has not made public, and that the confrontation would no longer be confined to the region's borders. The statement did not specify which weapons Iran has in mind or which locations outside the Middle East could be affected, and the claim about undisclosed weapons could not be independently verified.

The warning follows the June 2025 war, when the United States struck Iranian nuclear facilities at Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan on June 22, 2025, during the Israel-Iran conflict. Iran retaliated the next day with missiles aimed at Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, the largest US military installation in the region. Qatar said its air defences intercepted the missiles and that there were no casualties. It condemned the attack as a violation of its sovereignty and airspace. A ceasefire took hold on June 24, 2025, with Qatar among the parties that worked diplomatically to secure it.

That history gives the IRGC's language direct relevance for Doha and the other Gulf states, which host US forces and have repeatedly called for de-escalation and dialogue with Tehran. Qatar also shares the world's largest natural gas field with Iran and has consistently held that regional disputes should be settled through diplomacy rather than force.
