Israeli forces abduct 8 Palestinians in occupied West Bank

Israeli forces detained eight Palestinians in the village of Ad-Deqaiqa, in the Masafer Yatta area south of Hebron in the occupied West Bank, on Sunday, according to a report published on September 20, 2026.
The detainees were named as Nasser Ahmad Nasser al-Najadeh, Abdul Rahman Mohammad al-Najadeh, Suleiman Mahmoud Kaabneh, Mohammad Suleiman al-Najadeh, Yousef Ahmad Mohammad Kaabneh, Mohammad Raad Amer, Odeh Salem al-Najadeh, and Salem, the son of Odeh Salem al-Najadeh. The report cites anti-colonization activist Osama Makhamreh and the Palestinian news agency WAFA.
The report describes further incidents in the occupied territory. A water line serving roughly 700 residents was cut. The home of Khairy Abu Tuffah in Khallet al-Hummus was attacked. Settlers used pepper spray near the entrance of al-Mughayyir village, northeast of Ramallah, and an ambulance was damaged by settlers.
The report puts the settler population of the occupied West Bank at about 750,000, living in 141 settlements and 224 outposts. Around 250,000 of them live in occupied East Jerusalem. Settlements are illegal under international law. In July 2024 the International Court of Justice issued an advisory opinion finding Israel's continued presence in the occupied Palestinian territory unlawful.
Masafer Yatta is a cluster of small herding communities in the south Hebron hills. In May 2022 Israel's High Court rejected petitions from residents of several of its hamlets, clearing the way for their removal from land the army designates a firing zone. Residents and rights groups have since reported repeated raids, detentions and settler attacks there.
Qatar has repeatedly condemned Israeli settlement expansion and military raids in the West Bank. It has called for an end to the occupation and for the protection of Palestinian civilians.
